Capitol Virtual Chapter Meeting - Fire & Community: A Large Landowner’s Perspective

For OSAF's Capitol Chapter meeting, Jill Bell will share how Weyerhaeuser responded to the Labor Day 2020 fires in Oregon, including the impact the fires had on the communities where they operate and how they have contributed back to the devastated communities. In addition, she will highlight how Weyerhaeuser is moving forward with salvage operations and a plan to reforest their ownership within the fire footprints from the Riverside, Beachie Creek, Holiday Farm, and Archie Creek fires.

Jill Bell is the area manager of Weyerhaeuser’s Snow Peak Tree Farm where her team is actively engaged in salvage and reforestation operations on Weyerhaeuser’s property within the footprint of the Beachie Creek Fire. Jill has been with Weyerhaeuser for 18 years and has a background in forest engineering and harvest operations.
