Fire Adapted in Southern Oregon's Rogue Valley: A Virtual Film Screening + Panel Discussion

Join us on Wednesday, May 26th from 6:00-8:00 pm, for "Fire Adapted in Southern Oregon's Rogue Valley: A Virtual Film Screening + Panel Discussion." This free virtual screening of The West is Burning will be offered to the broader community, followed by a panel discussion of local forest and fire professionals to share how different techniques are being be used to better prepare and protect our community surrounding fire-adapted ecosystems. Get to know more about the community collaboration that’s underway across Oregon’s Rogue Valley!

  • Chris Chambers, Wildfire Division Chief for Ashland Fire & Rescue
  • Darren Borgias, Southwestern Oregon Forest Conservation Director at The Nature Conservancy
  • Marko Bey, Executive Director for Lomakatsi Restoration Project
  • Terry Fairbanks, Executive Director for Southern Oregon Forest Restoration Collaborative.

The conversation will be moderated by George McKinley, landowner and past executive director of Southern Oregon Forest Restoration Collaborative.

This event is hosted by Rural Voices for Conservation Coalition and Southern Oregon Forest Restoration Collaborative in partnership with Ashland Fire & Rescue, Ashland Forest Resiliency, City of Ashland, Lomakatsi Restoration Project, Oregon State University's Southern Oregon Research and Extension Center, Rogue Forest Partners, and The Nature Conservancy with funding support from Oregon Department of Forestry.
